To actualize CHA Medical Group’s vision of becoming the No.1 global leader in biomedicine,
it established CHA Bio Complex – Korea’s largest future research complex – in May 2014.
CHA Bio Complex, composed of 7 levels above ground and 5 basement levels and totaling a surface area of 20,000 pyeong
(712 Thousand Square feet), is Korea’s only integrated bio center that encompasses hospitals, medical schools,
biotech companies and research facilities. Pursuant to Chariman Cha Kwang-yul’s philosophy that “Creative ideas emerge from creative buildings”, Italian architectural
design master Alessandro Medini was commissioned to ensure that the design of CHA Bio Complex was creative.
CHA Bio Complex, Korea’s representative bio research center, reflects and promotes the creativity and innovation
of CHA Medical Group. The building is composed of the graduate medical school, a medical science research center,
a lounge with a medieval-style pipe organ, a multipurpose theater, a convention center for weddings and conferences,
a 3D media hall, a fitness center and pool, and a state-of-the-art library.
